Can someone tell me how to get internet without going through AT&T or Comcast. I assume I have to have a phone line. I’ve checked that out and it’s more expensive than my cable that gets me internet and a phone.

I don’t know. I haven’t subscribed to a newspaper since the 80’s and only pick up a rag when I am away from the net for sports news. I have DirectTV and only watch TCM. Quit FOX about year ago. Need my TCM fix though....

That's my question, too. I've checked into Hulu and Netfix, but they require a high-speed internet connection, and I only have DSL through AT&T. We don't have cable, never had, don't want it, so all AT&T's "special offers" are of no use to us. Is my only option internet through a cable company?

We have satellite — Exede. That is one of the many sub-services of viasat who also own Direct-TV and some other stuff. No cable on our low-housing-density, deep-in-the-woods back road, so it is satellite dish or DSL. Not fast as cable and with daytime data limits, but better than nothing.

I havent a clue if they’re “0” contributers or not.
