Not just The Founding Fathers. My parents who were part of The Greatest Generation and both of whom served in WWII, wouldn’t recognize this Country.
No; my parents wouldn’t recognize it either; they were part of the Greatest Generation. My dad was a WWII combat veteran; but he had a disconnect in his thinking about the Democrat Party and FDR. He had already disliked draft dodgers worse than a dose of salts; but when Bill Clinton came along and it was revealed that he had been a draft dodger, Daddy gave him a pass. My parents always thought that the Democrat Party was more for the poor person. Daddy had lost his hearing for the most part in the war; and whenever all the scandals that Clinton was embroiled in came out, he couldn’t hear well enough to take it in.
I am only in my late 40’s and I don’t recognize the country I grew up in. I was proud to be able to serve my country in the 1980’s during the Cold War, but I am no longer proud of what Americans now choose to stand for.
I was thinking about flying my American flag upside down, but I think too many people wouldn’t understand it. So instead I removed my flag from my pole and turned off the light that kept it illuminated. I then took my flag to the back yard and with honor and respect destroyed it by burning it completely gone.
I will not fly an American flag again until America returns to respecting God (not allah) and it returns to being based on the Constitution. In other words, I doubt I will ever fly an American flag again. It’s a sad day, but it isn’t the end, because I still believe in God and I know that about half of America DIDN’T choose Obama, so there is still hope.
