If Rush was really a fighting conservative, he'd have been at the forefront of an effort to prevent Romney from ever getting close to the nomination. Instead, Rush aided and abetted Romney during the primaries and went after Gingrich for being "anti capitalist" in a deliberate misinterpretation of the point Gingrich was making about Romney's "crony capitalism."

Sorry, Yaelle, but it eventually dawned on me, after nearly 20 years of listening, that Rush is a phoney baloney. Romney is a liberal statist, "nice guy" or not. Hell, Jimmy Carter was a nice guy. As for "conservative living," Romney is ON VIDEO saying that he believes that if minor female gets pregnant, wants an abortion, and her parents refuse consent, then she should be able to go to a judge and have him override her parents. That is not living "clean and religiously," Yaelle -- it's living tyranny, to state that the government should have authority over parents. People -- especially ones calling themselves Christian conservatives -- who are willing to rationalized a vote that would empower an agent of that kind of moral abandon, deserve what they get.

I always said Romney was bad news ... and I was RIGHT. The bastard made it so a lot of Republicans just stayed home -- Republican turnout was worse for Romney than it was for McCain.

Rush is as useless as tits on a bull.

You were WRONG. Romney rang a good a campaign against Obama as anyone could've hoped. Obama was NOT going to lose; I've said that for two years that Americans would be apprehensive at firing the first black POTUS. Obama begged for a second chance, claiming Bush left things far worse than was known and he it worked.

Now, tell me why Romney got fewer votes than McCain. McCain had a gimmick in Sarah Palin; it wasn't enough.

Should Romney have gone with a gimmick running mate? Maybe Romney should've repudiated his Mormon faith that evangelicals have been attacking for years.

Where's this ON VIDEO moment you talk about? Was it from the past couple years or do you believe in the perfectly formed candidate from conception who can't grown and mature ?

Those "Christian conservatives" allowed a man who advocates for infanticide to triumph, to continue his 'fundamental transformation'. This notion the solution to impure GOP nominees is to let America suffer a Democrat is BULL**** insanity. It flies in the face of the supposed values but it is exactly the Pontius Pilate voter mentality I railed and warned against here on FR.

Race card, Bush's fault, Pontius Pilate voters, anti-Mormon evangelicals helped reelect Obama.

As I recall, FR was enthusiastically pushing a "No Vote" on Romney as well. I am sure that the effect was not the difference maker. But while we are trying to figure out how part of this might be Rush's fault, Freepers were encouraged to "stick it to the GOP", "teach them a lesson" "not vote for Mitt".

How many GOPers this morning are thinking, "Gee, I wish we had run a more conservative candidate."? I doubt there is one. Instead they are thinking, "Mitt was too conservative and people thought he was like Bush. We should have run Bloomberg on our ticket."

Sorry but f*ck abortion and birth control. It’s not putting food on my table, it’s not putting a roof over my head, it’s certainly not stopping obamacare. We are royally screwed because the majority of people like yourself can’t stop blabbering incessantly about abortion and birth control. Wait for the pink slips to start right around Christmas time. Blame yourselves as well as the ignorant liberal moochers for the loss, not Mitt Romney and Rush.

Republican turnout was worse for Romney than it was for McCain.

But why? He kicked ass in the first debate and did a decent job in the next two debates. He nominated Paul Ryan as his VP. Rallies late in the race were HUGE! Yet he gets less overall votes? Especially when all along Independents were supposedly breaking for Romney in a big way? It just does not all add up.

Finny, I agree with everything you say and have said about Romney, and almost everything you say about Rush.

BUT this show today explains to a tee why we are outnumbered and the mentality we are dealing with.
