I voted for my first Democrat today...

Here in California, we moved to a "top two" primary system where the top two candidates, regardless of party, move to the general election. My Congressional district was reapportioned into the new CA-15 (was CA-11), and Fremont's Fortney "Pete" Stark is now running in the Tri-Valley (about 25 miles north of Fremont).

I had to choose between radical senile Stark or Democrat newcomer Eric Swalwell from Dublin.

This reminds me of when Democrat newcomer Ellen Tauscher was running against Republican incumbant Bill Baker back when this district was the CA-10. A Tauscher-backed heckler goaded Baker into an argument at a rally in Danville, which was video-taped, and Tauscher unseated Baker. Tauscher went on to join Hillary Clinton's State Department.

Call me an Anybody But Stark voter this year.

Been there. Done that. I live in bluer than blue Minneapolis. When it comes to city council, school board and park board races, the choices are all Democrats or occasionally Green Party.

I’m stuck voting for the Democrat who’ll only make me sick 90% of the time as opposed to the one who’ll make me sick 100% of the time.

in some statewide primary elections, I’ve crossed over and voted in the Dem primary (similiar to Limbaugh’s “Operation Chaos” idea) to try and get the Democrat nominated who would be easiest for the Republican to beat in November.
