Hope so but the system administrators need to consider what type of hardware monitoring can be put into place to detect this in the future. If a hardware component is failing or even suspect, the SA should be notified immediately. Ideally a automated failover would occur but a prompt manual changeover is better than none. In principle the same type of system health monitoring can be applied to the network and the database. As you probably know, that's the way we did it in the VAXen world decades ago!!!

I miss my VAX. But I don’t think it could handle this load.
