People are freezing to death and starving and these athletes are insulted?

Don't you think these people might be upset because they spent their own money getting there, only to have it canceled at the last minute by City Leaders who (like Obama) are playing 'politics' ???

Granted, it should be postponed or canceled due to the problems, but it should have been the first thing canceled, not the last.

Would you have spent your money to travel to a city that a bunch of people just died an dand are still dying in to go run?

I don’t give a ****ing sh!t if they wasted their money.

I agree, however are we to believe that these people, who can spend in many cases several thousands of dollars in airfare and hotel rooms, probably spend thousands in high end running shoes a year, don’t have the means to, uh, I don’t know, turn on a TV? They don’t have internet connections and or smart phones? They were totally oblivious to what was going on in NYC right up until the minute the race was finally cancelled? They had to wait for that idiot Bloomberg?

Sure, if they had cancelled last week, they might have still been out some money - I’m guessing the registration fees aren’t refundable but they might have been able to cancel their flights and hotel reservations and gotten at least partial refunds.

I agree with you. New York City made a big deal about continuing the race and then cancelled it at the last minute after many spent thousands of dollars to come.

And it was cancelled only for politic points.

I can’t believe they didn’t assume it would be cancelled, and showed up expecting it to still be held. If they had used common sense, then they would have stayed home.
