If she was commissioned in 1961, What Enterprise was I on in about 1957/1958 in Bremerton WA during an open house aboard ship after a major retrofit in that shipyard? My stepfather worked on her during that time.

Either an Essex class Enterprisde or the WWII original I suppose—many Essex class carriers were scrapped after the war and others replaced by the new Forestall class super carriers.

Older brother said the ship in question was the USS Midway. She was having an open house after completion of being built in Bremerton. Maybe someone can confirm this. Thanks. Free Republic is being weird today too.
