Another Obama-supporting newspaper jumps ship...
(Excerpt) Read more at newsday.com ...
Seven days ago was 10/27; WaPo put out its entirely predictable endorsement 10/25. Was that “last minute?” By whose standards?
What Is Your Point with all this hair splitting of the definition of what "last minute" is?
Think about it.
Have no idea what your preparations or the hurricane have anything to do with a newspaper making a presidential endorsement.
When Reagan won, me and my parents were ecstatic but STUNNED as it unfolded that night.
I am doing everything I can to resist getting that feeling until I begin to see the same hopefully unfolding Tuesday night.
But it sure is tempting to start feeling that way.
excuse me, but YOU, fan, introduced “LAST MINUTE” in caps (#40) after nucobvert introduced the concept at #9. So wtf are you talking about? Nuconvert objected to the paper’s purposely withholding its endorsement until the”last minute” as if on LINY they had nothing to do but worry about editorial endorsements. Maybe some people ought to think before they post preposterous conspiratorial notions. How about that?
Bam Bam ship... the good ship folly props.
It is as possible that they purposely waited until this date for other reasons as it is that they did it because of the storm.
Last minute was more than a week ago, it's today and everyday from now until election day.
Publisher Rufus Friday of Lexington, KY endorsed Romney today. Another paper in the midwest endorsed Romney today. And others in the midwest. We don't know if it's because of the storm when Newsday did it. There was no flooding in Lexington or Colorado.
Even in Oct of 1917 Lenin believed it was too soon to stage the revolution. Among the reasons: he did not think the Russian banks were centralized enough, nor other markets solid enough, to support the nation at that point.
The lesson?
Leftism depends on the benefits of markets and investment for the pot of gold from which it must steal to exist.
Lefty organizations like Newsday might be seeing that all the social programs they so love will soon be in jeopardy if Obama’s lame economy persists.
Their view could be: Let Romney re-invigorate the free market and then we’ll find someone to endorse who can “rightfully” steal from it.
The only thing that matters is that we see Obama concede on tuesday night. That’s all. And I know we both want to see that.
This is good! We have to get out in force to drive up Mitts popular vote!!
THREE MORE DAYS! THREE MORE DAYS!:)
MAN BITES DOG!
Wow!
As Red Foxx would say, “He comes the big one”.
As Red Foxx would say, “Here comes the big one”.
NY Daily News has endorsed Romney.
Not surprising, as Mort Zuckerman turned against Barry quite awhile ago.
This is really putting me in a dilemma.
I have an awful hard time voting for Romney as I consider him a RINO big time and just cannot swallow voting for a dem in GOP clothing. He’s supported everything I oppose. It’s a matter of conscience. I know of other Republicans who have been planning on voting third party as a protest vote as well, although I know that will hurt Romney’s chance in NY.
I had considered my vote for president as a throw away vote, but if NY actually stands a chance of going for Romney...... I just don’t know and have only two days to decide.
FWIW, I see far more Romney/Ryan signs around here than I do obama signs. Support for him is strong in CNY.
‘It’s a matter of conscience.’
Think of your conscience if Obumpo wins - - -
Don’t think I haven’t thought of that. It’s been pointed out more than enough on FR, in case you haven’t noticed.
The difference between the policies of Romney and Obama are a distinction without a difference. Romney supports abortion, homosexual marriage, nationalized, healthcare, all the dem initiatives which are destroying the fabric of our society.
The main difference is that he is not the America hating, muslim, marxist that obama is, but his policies are no better for us because they are no different than obama’s.
This election, though, I DO have a chance in the House and Senate races. My district has one of the most conservative Congress persons going, Anne Marie Buerkle, running against a dem, and for the Senate, Wendy Long is running, although she’s up against two of the most liberal Senators this country has.
I have to answer to a higher power than any human being. Voting for a homosexual marriage supporting, baby killing, nationalized healthcare, liberal in GOP clothing, is a lot to answer for.
