I’m getting good at ducking thrown tomatoes on this forum, but once again I’m going to give my viewpoint on this subject. Christie over reacted to the devastation in his home state. I can’t really sit here and say I wouldn’t have done the same thing. It was a scary thing for the residents of NJ.

It doesn’t make a bit of difference to me that Christie kissed O’s butt for the money he probably would have received anyway - because NJ is a blue state and we all know that the blue states get top priority when it comes to relief efforts.

O used Christie - big time. I don’t think Christie thought of it in those terms. I think he wanted the photo op as much as O did - but for different reasons. He wanted the rest of the U.S. to see the disaster that his state was. Sure, the cameras would have paid some homage to it - but he also knew that it would receive priority if the zero was there. So, in essence, I think they used each other.

For all his RINOess - I truly believe that Christie loves his state and said some stupid things for lack of sleep. I actually don’t think this is going to hurt Mitt. I don’t live in NJ and can’t speak for them, however, for them to even elect a Republican governor says something. I imagine that state is as corrupt as Chicago.

Politicians from states like NJ and NY are a different breed. People love their in-your-face type of government officials. They are brash. I actually get a kick out of the way they campaign and say things. I just am thankful I don’t live in one of the true-blue states.

So, I’m giving Christie a pass on this. He did campaign with Mitt previously - so I don’t think his support has waned. His priority right now is to get his state back up and running - and yes - his re-election bid. He knows that NJ will vote for O - so, like I said - they both used each other. Its the nature of politics. And, while O was doing his photo-op - he wasn’t out on the campaign trail trashing Mitt. I also think Christie can take the barbs thrown his way over his groveling.

I suppose I like the saying that says - never judge a man until you walk a mile in his shoes. Like it or not - O is the current president - and hopefully, and prayefully - that will change next Tuesday.

I'm going to paraphrase the ABOs here (God help me) and say that anything that doesn't help Romney helps Obama.

There was a way to invite the President of the United States to tour storm damage without appearing fawning and subservient. Christie failed to find it. While it's true that Christie's actions may not have hurt Romney, there isn't a real downside for Obama. That's where he has explaining to do.
