Florida continues to look good for Mitt Romney. The Republican holds a 6-point lead in the state essential to his hopes of defeating President Barack Obama, according to a new Tampa Bay Times/Bay News 9/Miami Herald poll.

The poll shows slight tightening, with Romney's 51-45 lead down 1 percentage point from the Times' statewide poll a month ago. Other Florida surveys show a tighter contest and both campaigns are blanketing the state with appearances geared toward scraping together every last vote.

Still, nearly every key indicator in the Times' pre-Election Day poll reveals Romney's advantage in a state Obama won four years ago.

Given all the evidence on the ground I’d say these numbers are pretty close to correct.

Most of zero’s rallies could be held in a phone booth.

We keep seeing these polls showing Romney winning Florida, yet the liberal news is reporting that Obama is ahead in their polls. What the heck?

They're just trying to gaslight everyone.

All, trust your instincts and vote.

We should ignore the liberal media on this.

Just saw Rachel Maddow rundown of polls in the battleground states. Her polls had Obama ahead in every single battleground state, including Florida.

Clearly they are doctoring the polls, to create the impression that Obama is more popular than he really is.

Well, we’ll know Tuesday night how accurate all these polls really were.

A Marist poll shows Obama ahead by two points and Romney is heading back to FL on Monday. FL is not as nailed down as we’d like, apparently.

But, but, but. The news media insists that Obama will carry Florida. What’s a conservative, Catholic, Midwestern gal supposed to believe?

The newsmedia would not lie to us, would they?

Seriously, this helps keep my heart palpitations at bay. Thanks for posting this poll.

Remember MSNBC during the Recall?

That is all you need to know.

Obama knew FL. was lost, yet refused to concede it and thus, wasted money that could have been used elsewhere to save Democrat seats.

He wanted the illusion of 2008.

Also, checking the article, one couldn’t see the internals, which I am sure were heavily +D.

This might be the most nationalized election I have ever seen. So many states with the same basic spread.

No, I don’t have the internals. I was merely sourcing the poll.
