Great catch on classic weasel-words: “A continent away.”
Morocco is a “continent away” from Spain, what 20 miles across at Gibraltar?
It’s further from Germany to Gibraltar than to Benghazi. The QRF couldn’t make it to Benghazi? What, union rules?
“We’re just the QRF for the exclusive use of Eurcom. You Africom boys find your own QRF.”
Bullshit.
It took me a while but I finally figured out what QRF stands for. It is “Quick Reaction Force” isn’t it?
Yeah, saying something is a continent away sounds impressive but in actual fact means almost nothing. Someone could be hiking in the Urals at the continental divide and be only a few feet from another continent. In fact they could jump back and forth from and to Europe and Asia as much as they wanted.
