I have no clue what controls are in place at my local voting precinct. I have this vague notion that both sides have poll watchers at each location and that there exists somewhere some procedures to ensure that the vote is fair and not modified. And presumably those procedures include making sure that the machines software has been tested by both sides and secured. But I don't know that for sure.

Here is an evaluation of each state's voting process. And while it identifies many concerns, I don't think it even covers what I stated above.

Yeah, like we all assumed there were sufficient safeguards to ensure a non-natural born American would never be on the ballot for president?

Electronic voting machines can be hacked, and imperceptibly so—that's according to one of their design engineers who testified before Congress a few years back. He was arguing AGAINST using the machines he designed!!
