Some random thoughts, triggered by the 2 PM ET newscast:
Bloomie is equating running the marathon with Rudy doing the same (at least, the “we must go forward” part - the b@stard is even using the Obama slogan!). But they don’t equate on scale, victims, or the ability to deal with the aftermath.
Reports make note of the .1% diff in the unemployment rate from Obama’s inauguration until now, the implication is that it’s petty to talk about such a small difference. But I wonder about the difference in the U6 number - is that a much more noteworthy measure?
And for that matter, even if the rate stayed the same - it means Obama has accomp0lished nothing!

Ambassador Stevens, his aide Smith and 28 other people were at the Benghazi consulate when the attack began. Woods and Doherty were at the CIA annex and heard the call for help from the consulate. They were told to stand down multiple times!
Heroic Americans that they are, they believed that their fellow citizens were in peril, so they went to help. They evacuated 28 people and brought back the body of Smith. They returned to the consulate to search for Stevens. They caused grievous and copious casualties to the terrorists.
What they couldn't conceive of was the terrorists could have been promised a nice and easy 1979 Tehran style takeover where they could humiliate the United States, but then they would turn over the captives just before the election and make Obama a hero.
Oops. Enter Woods and Doherty. They had a different idea. How about instead of a successful hostage incident, we kill as many of these scum as possible, and with backup, we will kill a lot more. But then they couldn't know, that a prior agreement was made and the scum weren't expecting armed resistance, perhaps they were PROMISED no armed resistance, no matter what.
So, in spite of the casualties, the Obama administration still denied armed intervention so as to keep their part of the bargain. Not good enough for the terrorists, who decided to injure, rape, kill, and rape Stevens some more.
God bless Woods and Doherty, and God DAMN those who denied them assistance.

I could be wrong, but if memory serves, I believe he was asked that question on air at least once. Iirc his answer was "RASS mussen." But he said he didn't mind if people mispronounced it.

The sad part about that Obama rally is that he could have said pure gibberish for 30 minutes (basically what he did anyway) and would have received cheers from that crowd. He could have said:
Obama: I LIKE KITTENS!
Crowd: YEAH!
Obama: Do YOU like KITTENS?!
Crowd: YEAH!
Obama: Romney doesn’t like KITTENS!
Crowd: BOOO!
Obama: Please go vote in four days for four more years of me liking kittens!!
