So if any of your family or friends are in favor of creating a socialist dictatorship or sending you off to the gas chambers, you still have no problem with that? When an “ideology” means death to our country, then you have to forsake family or friends. You are incredibly naive not to care if they turn you into the authorities when the time comes. Denial is not a river in Egypt.

No, until someone *acts* on their ideology, theology or the voices in their head only a cretin would let it interfere with family or friendship. A guest in my house or a friend or relative is quite free to espouse and argue (politely, there has never been anything worth raising one’s voice for unless it is so extreme it also merits killing in self defense) anything and everything, from hardcore atheism, Islam, Dominion ism, forced abortion, death penalty for drug use... I couldn't care less. People who are upset at the ideas or words of other people do not even deserve to be considered homo sapiens. People who cannot debate any idea calmly and rationally, be it guns, abortion, taxes or Iraq, and then proceed to have drinks and play music with the people they have argued against are lower than dogs or pigs in my view, for at least dogs and pigs have some function, but people who cannot be absolutely dispassionate about the ideas under discussion are merely wasted oxygen, be they fans of Bin Laden or Benedict.
