The gas is on in the building, but they have no heat. Tenants are blasting their gas stoves and ovens to stay warm.

The horror, nothing but a large stove, to use for heat for a few days.

Nothing to eat for a few days, but what you already had in your kitchen, if you can't reach the restaurants a mile or two away.

These aren't exactly road warrior types.

time for obama’s legion to ship a whole bunch of these helpless govt wards to those FEMA 645 camps

What are they saving them for?

As time goes on and more and more tempers rise, Obama will feel the heat. As unfortunate as it was for the hurricane to hit, the timing could be helpful to Romney.

Maybe they should just call Andrea Mitchell for help, she’s the one who said Mitt Romney’s food donations just aren’t needed or helpful.

“where human waste is spilling out of the toilet”

Seriously? They can’t think past going to the edge of an island and doing their business??

I predicted all of this... right here on FR and I was told I was full of it. Well I have lived through many, many hurricanes and their aftermath. I have heard all of these complaints before. Many good people prepared and many good people are helping others... GOD is present... but those that depend on government for everything are the first to complain and raise ****.

We have the “WOLF PACKS” and their tweets of the crimes that they are committing. We have long gas lines and traffic jams. We have stores with bare shelves and no way to restock them... prices are soaring. It is going to get much worse before it gets better.

They are already blaming obama in some places... the words most heard... “he promised... where is the government help”? Wait until they find out that beyond the $200.00 the Red Cross will give them... and water and MRE's... it will take weeks for FEMA to start trucking out debris from neighborhoods and when they find out FEMA's financial help is going to be SBA loan applications... well things are going to go from bad to worse and it will be a long time before it gets better.

obama will suffer from now until the election... he stepped up onto the stage and accepted 100% responsibility for this disaster and he has no concept of the job it is going to be to undo the damage... he has nothing to offer but words and they do not quinch thirst, feed the hungry or warm the cold... and they do not supply security... and security will continue to deteriorate until Martial Law is instituted... and it will be if things follow their natural course.

LLS

Ok, this was a hurricane (which they had plenty of warning about) and they STILL were 1)unwilling/unable to evacuate; 2)not prepared with any stores of water, food, generator, flashlights, etc.; 3)expect the government to help????

Guess I’m jaded after too many years of living on the Gulf Coast and ALWAYS having stuff ready to go for a hurricane and not expecting ANYONE to come help for at least a week.

What will these people do when the financial fiasco comes and our government can’t lie anymore about how badly off our country really is? So glad I live in the rural part of the South now and would not want to be in a big city. At least when TSHTF my family and I can take care of ourselves for a while. These city dwellers are in a “mell of a hess!”

And they had days of advance notice that it was coming to prepare.

Imagine if it had been an earthquake.

So if the Romney bus (full of canned food and bottled water) were to pull up at the end of your street you would say, “We don’t want anything.”

You guys better figure out something quickly or you are going to get really sick.

"The food is gone. We are scrapping for food. One person found a sandwich and we split it four ways," said resident 58-year-old Albert Miller

Oh, good grief!!! If instead of a sandwich they had found a brain to split four ways then they'd be smart enough to figure out how to get up off their posteriors and do something productive. No, the human waste isn't coming out of the toilet but is scratching it's head looking into the toilet.

Despair sets in for some Coney Island residents as living conditions deteriorate rapidly

Meanwhile, Barry Benghazi after his photo op and pretending to give a damn, is off to Vegas for fundraising and campaigning! - sound familiar?

After reading this thread and about the deteriorating conditions in the NE, I’m believing more and more that the study on the affects of an EMP that concluded that 90% of the population would be dead within a year, is pretty close to being accurate. When I first heard of that conclusion, I just couldn’t believe it, but after observing Katrina’s and now Sandy’s aftermath, yeah, I believe it. The majority of the American population has become so dependent upon the grid for their daily sustenance and very life, that disabling that grid is like writing a death sentence for many, because they know not the first thing about having to fend for themselves, even in a short term situation.
