Pastor Joseph Lowery, a civil rights movement hero who delivered the benediction at President Obama’s inauguration, reportedly said that he is shocked that any black Americans would stay home with Obama on the ballot and suggested that all or most white people would go to hell.
The local outlet paraphrases Lowery’s comments. “Lowery said that when he was a young militant, he used to say all white folks were going to hell,” the Monroe County Reporter (Ga.) says in covering a rally in Forsyth, Georgia. “Then he mellowed and just said most of them were. Now, he said, he is back to where he was.”

Why would sane people want to affiliate with this garbage? Why are there no standards among these people?

Lowery, a veteran communist sympathizer, went off the tracks years ago. Glad to see that he is back to his old form, finally revealing his true racist nature.
If you study the history of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, of which Lowery was King’s successor, you will see the policy influence of the Communist Party USA throughout it.
Most of SCLC’s top leaders were connected to the CPUSA as sympathizers or outright supporters (W.T. Wyatt; once Ralph D. Abernathy, who changed late in life; convicted incest perp James Bevell and his wife; Dr. King and his top aides, CPUSA official Hunter Pitts O’Dell and CPUSA moneyhandler for KGB cash for the Party, Stanley Levison; etc.
What could have been and should have been the top leading black civil rights organization in America (besides the Urban League of Whitney Young), got corrupted early in its life and never purged the communist influence in it.
A little of this is found in Garrow’s “The FBI and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr”, but Garrow missed the real meanings of some of what he had found. That would have made for a great, great book.
