To: Cincinatus' Wife

If I’m not mistaken, Catholics (and I am one) always pick the winner. “Catholics” that support a president who endorses gay marriage, is the most pro-choice president in history and suppresses the freedom of the Church they claim to be a part of make my blood boil. Praying we smarten up this time.

Not exactly, the 5 times (or 6 if 1956 is counted, it is questioned) that republicans have won the Catholic vote have almost all been for reelection, 1956, 1972, 1984, 2004, and then Reagan's veep in 1988, and the only time in history that the Catholics voted republican against a democrat incumbent in 1980.

As you can see, republicans have won many elections in our history without the Catholic vote (almost all GOP victories), Bush in 2000 for instance and many before that. In other words, the Catholics do not lead towards conservative, but they will sometimes be dragged along to it for incumbents.
