New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, who has blasted President Obamas leadership, heaped praise on Obama on Tuesday for his handling of Hurricane Sandy.
The president has been outstanding in this and so have the folks at FEMA, Christie said on NBCs Today show.
Christie, whose state is among the hardest hit by the storm, made appearances on several morning talk shows on Tuesday and applauded Obama at each stop.

Ok, what does he expect from Romney/Ryan? Well, if Romney wins then come January, Christie will have to deal with President Romney, won’t he?
Seriously, he is praising Obama before Obama has done a damn thing. He knows exactly what he’s doing a week before the election. And tomorrow the msm will go wild with images of Christie and Obama together.
Mind you, NJ is devastated and Christie should be very kind to Obama, but when I just saw him deliberately not say a positive word about Romney, something is going on.
I suppose you also think it’s Bush’s fault..we have all had some sort of disaster and dealt with it ...its no reason for Christie to be such an obious suck up to Obama..claiming not to makd a political deal out of it while at the same time doing just that.
Perhaps that “something” is that his state just sh8t the bed.
Agree
After calling Obama “outstanding”, Christie couldn’t remember when Romney called him and he deliberately did not say a positive syllable even about Romney calling.
One week to go, Obama behind, don’t you damn well know Axelrod etc. Told Christie he better play ball, or else.
And if it is good for Christie to praise Obama right now, isn’t it also short sighted to be treating Romney like dirt when he might be the president in a couple of months?
Christie is all about Christie..as we learned at the RNC with his horrible self promotimg speech..he is McCain wo the military
heroism...
maybe he has never seen a disaster up close..he looked panicked to me..couldnt shut up..like maybe he needed a sedative
There is no way obama would threaten to hold back funds from Christie..if that became public it would be devestating to obama...this has somerhing to do with christie not liking romney..

yes it is short sighted but Christie was out doing the same thin after the convention..putting Eastwood down..me thinks he may not be all he professes to be.
You are making many assumptions that have no basis in reality.
I am merely suggesting that the shellshocked Governor of NJ is no fool. He knows how much fiscal trouble he is in, and you can bet that the Chicago thug put a quid pro qou on those funds.
He is putting his state first and the smell of dirty politics is hanging in the air.
Clear enough for you?
Once again read my posts. First, Obama hasn’t done anything for NJ yet. Second, if Romney wins was it wise for NJ to practically swing the election to Obama in a bid to get aid? Federal aid will be needed for the next 2 years.
And yes, something more is up because when Christie was asked about Romney he became suddenly confused and said not a positive word. He could have said Romney was “supportive”, not even that.
Do you doubt that Obama is playing hardball with his power and that they threatened Christie? Take a look at what Obama has done withholding federal aid to states like Texas.
well I noticed he failed to mention Romney at all. you know after the convention he was on alot of shows and managed to put Eastwood down on all of them and no mention of Romney. I think he is out for whoever will scratch his back..this close to an election that makes him look bad.. he made it political by running his fat mouth
Based on your post 51, we agree. Don’t people understand how panicked the Obama team is, how desperate, Axelrod is Mr. Hardball, and this is a last minute golden opportunity.
I think Christie is in the process of “John Roberts-ing” us.
We’ll know for sure tomorrow after the cameras follow him and the Kenyan around the damage sites and then he is asked to comment on it.
Christie is working on his own re-election. Always looking forward with loads of Jersey democrat ass to kiss. He may be a RHINO at best.
Is that not what I just said? Quid pro Quo.
New Jersey is never going Romney period.
What the heck is Romney supposed to be offering to be “supportive of”?
R is nothing right now. (never will be in NJ)
Apparently you don’t understand east coast corruption/politics.
Make that RINO.
On second thought maybe RHINO was the proper description of Christie.
NJ was hit hard and I feel for those people.
I haven't seen hurricane damage this bad since cat 4 Ike hit Galveston and Houston.
