I'm guessing that its worth considerably less than say 700 tons of coal.

Had to take a guess. But say the grade of ore is average, at 2 grams of gold per ton. 2 grams = 0.7 ounces x 200 is about 14 ounces of gold at $1700 is about $24,000. (I have no idea on types of ounces, tons/tonnes, etc. - it’s an estimate).
