I know circumstances were different (by that I mean party labels), but there was no rallying around the President after Katrina. In fact, there was a crucifiction of a President after Katrina. Obviously, the media is going to try to use this to prop up Obama.

What I have to hope would happen here is that Romney is not going to lose votes. He has this election won in terms of votes, where he is at 50% in most key states, and Obama 45-48%. I have to doubt someone who’s made up their mind changes it. It could easily impact those undecideds and swing a few back to Obama who otherwise have been hesitant to vote for him again this cycle. Unless Obama does something heroic, other than ‘be there’ looking important, I don’t see this have a radical effect. This election was all but over two days ago, and it will take a major swing to change that.

Agree with you. Not sure having his mug out there does much good for a president with his record.
