Any disaster in non-flyover country (the Northeast and Southern California) is overhyped by the MSM. Hundreds of square miles of Colorado might burn down, but a few dozen homes in Queens will get more coverage. A hurricane can flatten thousands of homes in Florida, and a tornado do similar damage in Missouri, but a few roofs lost in New Jersey will get more coverage. The MSM’s focus on their home regions is as predictable as their liberal bias.

That’s pretty much my perspective as well. People in the upper midwest were without power in some places for weeks on end, in bitterly freezing temps... and there was no hyperventilation about it.

The Teton Dam burst above Rexburg and the entire town was under feet of water in minutes... and the national news moved in, reported it and went on with their NYC/DC soap operas.

And on and on and on.

The people of the NYC/DC axis think they’re oh so very special. Every little popcorn fart of inconvenience is a huge event to them.

The rest of the country has to carry on without the drama and spectacle of the NYC/DC news cycle.

You do realize that the entire Jersey Shore with all of its real estate got flooded? And much of NYC and Long Island as well? This wasn’t just a few homes.
