Benghazi: The president says the election has nothing to do with four brave Americans getting killed, but, as in 1980 at another embassy, it should just as it matters who gave the order to stand down.
We have speculated that a reason the cries for military help during the seven-hour assault on our consulate in Benghazi were ignored was due to fears of another "Blackhawk down" incident as in Somalia under President Clinton or a repeat of the Desert One mission that crashed and burned in the Iranian desert in a failed attempt to rescue our hostages in Tehran in 1980.
After all, according to Richard Miniter's book "Leading From Behind: The Reluctant President and the Advisors Who Decide for Him," it was at the urging of White House adviser Valerie Jarrett that President Obama canceled the operation to kill Osama bin Laden three times before finally approving the May 2, 2011, Navy SEAL mission. Her concern: the political harm to Obama if the mission failed.
As we've written, Defense Secretary Leon Panetta has falsely said we didn't have real-time intelligence of the terrorist attack on our consulate in Benghazi. The administration has also suggested it was the CIA that put the brakes on any attempt at relief or rescue.
ABC's Jake Tapper reports that a CIA spokesman, presumably at the direction of CIA Director David Petraeus, has put out a statement saying, "No one at any level in the CIA told anybody not to help those in need; claims to the contrary are simply inaccurate."
Someone did, and the question is who?

OBL, I mean BHO is the ONLY one that can make the stand down order.
TSA's mission statement.
I'm not quite sure who the President of the USA is - a hired worker who has very specific duties 24/7/365, or a monarch surrounded by courtiers? What you describe is more appropriate for the Emperor of the world.
In a sane society, however, the Commander-in-Chief can and should be awaken whenever necessary, and should be delivered, regardless of his opinion, into the Situation Room where he will be given specific scenarios - that in this case changed by the minute - and requested (not subserviently asked!) to stay at his post and keep directing the country's armed forces and every other department of the government, as needed (namely, the CIA,) until the situation is resolved.
My @$$ he ever approved that mission. Show us the orders if he did.
I, too, believe at least one of the Predators was armed. I believe that VERY strongly aaaand I want know WHO ordered our guys to release to the Libyans the three attackers whom we captured.
One huge act of Treason with multiple elements, including arming, supplying intelligence, and classified documents to the enemy, all of which aids and abets.
We’ll find out who gave the “Stand down” order right after we find out who hired Craig Livingstone and what documents Sandy Burgler stole.
That it does in a major way.
Had he done so there would be major network news coverage of the dramatic and heroic rescue operation ‘The Won sent in’ to save the lives of 41 Americans in a besieged diplomatic station. It would be replayed several times a day to remind us what a super hero Ramboesque warrior he is.
Which means he had to have a very good reason (or more than one) not to do it.
Fear and stupidity could be one reason and not at all unbelievable. But the other possibilities are believable too. None are really mutually exclusive either. His narcissism would kind of wrap around all of them pretty neatly giving them a reason to be his choices.
We'd better watch him carefully that he doesn't move to take advantage of Sandy.
I told a friend in NJ that the biggest danger they were facing was if 0bama decided to help them.
I was thinking of ballot boxes floating downriver, or files "lost" in power outages. The situation is absolutely conducive to mischief.
panetta said that he didn't authorize military action because he didn't have a clear picture. He had real time video and voice communication. What did he need?
By his rationale Washington wouldn't have crossed the Delaware, D Day, Inchon, none of it.
I don’t believe there’s any mystery about the stand down order. Just becuz the traitor or his accomplices don’t admit it doesn’t mean people can’t see the truth.
If this were any other person or any other crime, there would be no doubt that there is probable cause to arrest the traitor. It is obvious that he is the person who originated the stand down order.
He should be in custody behind bars already! What is the hold up ??!!
Who DIDN’T order the Code Red?
He voted, "NOT Present!"
Now, it's our turn to vote, "NOT President!"
