They've gone through bankruptcy before and emerged in better shape. That's a far cry from seizing control like Obama.

Personally I think its a perfect example of why the city of Detroit needs an emergency manager to control the bankruptcy.

I read somewhere recently that the bailout was a waste of our money because the union contracts were left as is at the insistence of Obama.

I just finished reading “General Mayhem” by Bill Hempel, which is an expose of his experiences from General Motors Institute up through the ranks to an executive position. The revelations were mostly shocking to me, but may not be to others. Bill is my cousin, but his story is an important look at why this giant failed. Management policies and union perks are major players.
