The counter terror effort indicates that the administration has been worried for some time about a growing threat posed by al-Qaida and its offshoots in North Africa.
On the subject of developing a special operations unit, U.S. officials received approval from Congress well before the Benghazi attack to reprogram some funding in the budget that could be used for the commando program in Libya. But the details are still being discussed with the Libyans and also must get final approval from Congress, according to the defense official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to discuss the matter publicly.
The initial cost is estimated at about $6.2 million.

They are waiting for "final approval" for over a year for 6.2 mill?
It does not sound like the administration was THAT worried about growing threats posed by al-Qaida and its offshoots in North Africa.
It sounds just like "we are studying that" or "we have that under investigation."

If I remember right, wasn't June/july when the "Innocence of Muslims" video was first posted to the web?
There was also at that time another video- not dirty as this was was described but better produced and better aimed at defanging islamic radicalism- due to come out or in the making at that time against islamic radicalism... this second video was briefly assumed by the press to be the one the state dept kept pushing. It has now been pretty much buried.

A very interesting series of connections. However, politically it does not make sense for Obama to have a bunch of hostages taken to be traded for the blind Sheikh. If that scenario had happened he would have looked weak, not electable. I look forward to studying the links.

Consider, on September 12, 2012 AP interviewed the so called film maker, who identified himself as an Israeli Jew, named Sam Bacile. Think there was no intent to inflame? We already know Obama's state department was apologizing for this so called offensive video before any uprising began anywhere.
From the interview I saw with Terry Jones, he was contacted by 'Sam Bacile' to promote the video, when General Dempsey was ordered to make public his personal call to dissuade preacher Jones from promoting this so called video. How is it that Obama and Clinton knew in advance all this specific information regarding an unknown film maker. I think they knew what was in the works from the git-go in anticipation of orchestrating world wide Muslim reaction to a Israeli Jew and a Christian preacher mocking their god. Look what their Egyptian leader was demanding. Laws to prevent anyone from speaking out about their god.
I think Obama and Clinton got caught with their pants down at the Benghazi weapons depot, decided the priority was to NOT reveal what they were actually doing in Benghazi. To have defended the Americans would by necessity exposed their weapons depot. So with their offensive video operation in progress they used the video as cover-up to keep secret their weapons stash. See I think Obama gets intel outside of normal government channels. Look who has his ear 24/7, Axelrod and Jarrett.
