I was a code remidiator during Y2K. The reason it was no big deal is because we searched and corrected millions, if not BILLIONS of lines of computer code. An army of computer programmers worked long and hard hours modifying date fields and the programs that use them.
If we had done nothing it WOULD have been disastrous.
