Oh please, your argument is utter nonsense. I’ve heard it a million times well before this fraud Madonna became a “billionaire” with her BS: “Oh she makes tons of money and you’re a hater”..Please, drug dealers make tons of money. It doesn’t change the fact they’re sh*tbags. How many people voted for and are voting for Obama? Tons of people yet it doesn’t change the fact he’s a schmuck and a fraud (who also makes a lot of money just like that other fraud Al Gore). Frankly I’m sick of people like you pushing cr*p like this and legitimizing it by using money as an excuse. Madonna is THE reason why when you turn on the radio today all you get is karaoke performers, one after another and another. Nothing legit. It’s because when she became a success, record companies realized that incredibly, people were stupid enough to buy records with really no discernible singer or band or musician..absolutely nothing at all really, just a puppet and a video. Just remember that next time you listen to Top 40 radio.

I agree in a sense that the 80’s were the decade where music ultimately started on a path that steered away from the actual music. Image was to become everything. Which 30 years ago actually wasn’t that bad, because the images could be multiple, original, vibrant, eccentric and unique. The overuse of beauty and sex, can clearly be connected to the likes of Madonna. I am not blaming her for the stupid decisions of record companies or technology, videos etc - someone would have been there at that moment to change things.

The difference being that you could tell that the visuals that Madonna created were her own ideas and a huge part of her personality. Then Britney came along with “I`m a virgin” in a schoolgirl uniform and a baby voice. ALL INDUSTRY. So even though Madonna was more in charge of her career, she did open the door for Britney and co.

But Madonna has the X factor that can’t be bottled — the charisma and uncanny ability to rule the stage regardless of props or dancers. She has the outstandingly strong presence of any legendary singer/entertainer, but she has also managed to elevate pop concerts to the art hybrids we all consider to be the standard nowadays. People would not be paying 300-400 a seat for a 30 year performer if she didn’t connect with the audience at a very deep level and have control of the audience in her voice. And record companies would be making serious profits if they could clone her. lol
