Now about Hurricane Sandy,

First bit of serendipity.

Mother-in-law lives in Mass., some of you might know. Woman is terrified of hurricanes. She comes to visit us here in Del. Once a year in Sept but she changed it to October cause every year was hurricane warning.

THIS year she came in Sept cause, get this, she’s going on some kind of cruise that will take off, get this, TOMORROW, from Boston Harbor. It will travel the coast down to the Bahamas or some place like that.

Husband asked her if the trip was still on but I must quell my laughter.

She’s going to be in a cruise ship traveling the coast starting tomorrow?

I have my doubts but husband spoke to her yesterday and she says she’s going.

So okay….I hear one more “expert” tell me to get extra batteries I shall shout and yell.

Come on, these weather guys are in their glory. Wow, they got a big weather event and all of a sudden they’re important!

I’m not saying Sandy isn’t a force to deal with but this is going to be mostly a rain event. There will be flooding and such but folks,

I’m used to flooding! We’re not even allowed to have basements in Delaware the water table’s so high.

Heh. Rehoboth Beach, home of our homosexual brethren and they too have boarded up and evacuated.

Anyway, daughter lives on Kent Island Merryland and she says they might evacuate her. I think they probably will.

And where will she go?

Well she don’t know.

Her husband is home, holding down the fort. They plan on staying on Kent Island and bearing it out.

It’s kind of odd as I and her husband’s mother live here in the swamps of Delmarva and it would hardly be wise to have them come stay with either of us. There’s talk of evacuating us (not likely, at least for me, I live 15 miles from the water) and already Markell’s evacuated anybody living 3/4 mile from the ocean.

So I don’t know.

But we’re ready cause after eleventy million TV experts told me about batteries, flashlights and filling bath tubs….well I think I might take their advice.
