“it feels like 1980 when Ronald Reagan, our greatest president since George Washington, won. Be of good cheer.”

I miss RR! I turned 18 a month before he was first elected and he was the first president I ever voted for. :) Now I just turned 50. Time flies!
I feel good about this too. I think people want a grownup in the White House again; a man who will put on a suit and tie, refrain from putting his feet up on the Oval Office desk, skip partying and actually work (and possibly attend security briefings), not bow to the Saudi King, not humiliate dignitaries by making them leave through the back door near the trash, not return gifts such as Churchill’s bust, not embarrass the entire country by giving the Queen of England an iPod with his speeches on it and Prime Minister Brown some DVDs that don’t work in his country, making his first trip to the Muslim world instead of Canada or some other Western ally; the list goes on...
This is off of the top of my head; I hope my facts are correct—but I am SO glad I sent in my absentee ballot to Colorado last week. Express mail, baby! :)
Vegas is the perfect place to meet with people you don't want to be seen with...
Liberals feel if a person exhibits a superior attitude that it's the same as a cogent logical argument. It's why they roll their eyes and sigh in place of saying something intelligent.
Liberal elites also feel 'passion and feeling' can trump facts... Like the kid who thinks if he yells louder, he wins.
The country was wonderful for a long time because when people came here they came to get away from 'elites' like the nose in the air liberals. But when elites opened the doors to the dregs of the world they cemented their power. In all third world shitholes elites are held in place by the lower and criminal classes. It's always been the middle class that stops elites from taking over... always will be...
Each person in a special ops group knows Obama can trump honorable men - the men they count on to come to their aid if needed.
This was a power play by Obama on the level of Reagan with the air controllers' unions. The difference being that Obama is trying to destroy our best and bravest - the men who can save us if needed. Obama has shown they are powerless against him. Obama has used the honor of good men against them... Men who had to choose between saving the lives of comrades or disobeying a command from the CIC. Obama types know this is the way to break good men - and to drum them out of the service .
Obama must not win at this... None of the people outraged at Obama's actions should resign - all need to stay where they are... If Obama's reelected it's going to get worse - and good people need to be in positions of power.
GOOD FOR YOU!!! I early voted, STRAIGHT REPUBLICAN, on the first day of early voting here in TN. If I ever vote for a DemonRat when there’s a pubbie I can vote for, may my arm turn to stone that very monent and may the good Lord strike me dead before I leave the polling place.
Once elected, then, the leader must be held by "the People" to a set of principles consistent with the Constitution's limits on his/her power.
America needs a rediscovery of the ideas which made it a shining light for oppressed individuals and families from all over the world.
Hear one of the wise men of America's founding generation:
"He therefore is the truest friend to the liberty of his country who tries most to promote its virtue, and who, so far as his power and influence extend, will not suffer a man to be chosen into any office of power and trust who is not a wise and virtuous man. We must not conclude merely upon a man's haranguing upon liberty, and using the charming sound, that he is fit to be trusted with the liberties of his country. It is not unfrequent to hear men declaim loudly upon liberty, who, if we may judge by the whole tenor of their actions, mean nothing else by it but their own liberty, - to oppress without control or the restraint of laws all who are poorer or weaker than themselves. It is not, I say, unfrequent to see such instances, though at the same time I esteem it a justice due to my country to say that it is not without shining examples of the contrary kind; - examples of men of a distinguished attachment to this same liberty I have been describing; whom no hopes could draw, no terrors could drive, from steadily pursuing, in their sphere, the true interests of their country; whose fidelity has been tried in the nicest and tenderest manner, and has been ever firm and unshaken. The sum of all is, if we would most truly enjoy this gift of Heaven, let us become a virtuous people." - Samuel Adams - Loyalty and Sedition, essay in The Advertiser, 1748"Neither the wisest constitution nor the wisest laws will secure the liberty and happiness of a people whose manners are universally corrupt." Samuel Adams - Essay in the Public Advertiser, 1749
"The liberties of our Country, the freedom of our civil constitution are worth defending at all hazards: And it is our duty to defend them against all attacks. We have receiv'd them as a fair Inheritance from our worthy Ancestors: They purchas'd them for us with toil and danger and expence of treasure and blood; and transmitted them to us with care and diligence. It will bring an everlasting mark of infamy on the present generation, enlightened as it is, if we should suffer them to be wrested from us by violence without a struggle; or be cheated out of them by the artifices of false and designing men. Of the latter we are in most danger at present: Let us therefore be aware of it. Let us contemplate our forefathers and posterity; and resolve to maintain the rights bequeath'd to us from the former, for the sake of the latter. - Instead of sitting down satisfied with the efforts we have already made, which is the wish of our enemies, the necessity of the times, more than ever, calls for our utmost circumspection, deliberation, fortitude, and perseverance. Let us remember that 'if we suffer tamely a lawless attack upon our liberty, we encourage it, and involve others in our doom.' It is a very serious consideration, which should deeply impress our minds, that millions yet unborn may be the miserable sharers of the event." Samuel Adams - Essay in the Boston Gazette, October 14, 1771
"When designs are form'd to raze the very foundation of a free government, whose few who are to erect their grandeur and fortunes upon the general ruin, will employ every art to sooth the devoted people into a state of indolence, inattention and security, which is forever the fore-runner of slavery." Samuel Adams - Article signed "Candidus," in Boston Gazette, December 9, 1771
"He who is void of virtuous Attachments in private Life, is, or very soon will be void of all Regard for his Country. There is seldom an Instance of a Man guilty of betraying his Country, who had not before lost the Feeling of moral Obligations in his private Connections." - Letter to James Warren, November 4, 1775
"Since private and publick Vices, are in Reality, though not always apparently, so nearly connected, of how much Importance, how necessary is it, that the utmost Pains be taken by the Publick, to have the Principles of Virtue early inculcated on the Minds even of children, and the moral Sense kept alive, and that the wise institutions of our Ancestors for these great Purposes be encouraged by the Government. For no people will tamely surrender their Liberties, nor can any be easily subdued, when knowledge is diffusd and Virtue is preservd. On the Contrary, when People are universally ignorant, and debauchd in their Manners, they will sink under their own weight without the Aid of foreign Invaders." Samuel Adams - Letter to James Warren, November 4, 1775
"Nothing is more essential to the establishment of manners in a State than that all persons employed in places of power and trust be men of unexceptionable characters. The public cannot be too curious concerning the character of public men." Samuel Adams - Letter to James Warren, November 4, 1775
For many reasons, which I have written on other threads and won’t repeat here, Romney’s refusal to engage HIS time on Benghazi during the debate, was brilliant. It forced the Old Media to ask why why why, and advanced the Libya story themselves, without Romney getting dragged into the mud himself. The Dinosaur Media are left without any sound byte that they would STILL be twisting to use against him.
Moreover, and what I want to point out here, is that -bama was “loaded for bear” on that topic with something to lambast Romney. What it was, I don’t know and it doesn’t matter. What matters is that -bama and advisers were expecting and intending a slam dunk on that subject to lead off the debate, and they didn’t even get a chance. That really angered Obama, and threw him off his game the rest of the night, groping for a way to get that slam dunk.
I invite everyone to go watch it again. -bama was mad all debate and continually tried to draw Mitt into a battle that never came.
The conservative media has to advance this story themselves now, without Romney’s help. It is the best way.
Very interesting reply post... I must study when I get back here and have brain to do so...
God Bless you!
What a great reply!
I would love to see Romney take a script that you write like that one for him, and air it next weekend as his closing arguments!
It is not only military and military families who are disturbed by Americans at a consulate/embassy being left behind as no better than dead.
Many others who have traveled overseas into any areas that are a bit dicey (count Israel, China, Egypt, now Greece, etc.) are well aware that they need to keep in mind where they can go in case of sudden trouble.
They are not intending to flee there so they can be trapped in a barrel, and there, die.
Wait until you read this.. I wrote the same thing last night on another thread..
I am by nature, skeptical, although not pessimistic, so I remain sanguine..(eyes crossed) But, something is happening, something big.. I am seeing things that I can recall way back in 1980..
To test my thesis, we have to watch the media.. The usual suspects, meaning the reliable pros that have a real reputation to protect, not that it matters, because we know they are libs, they portray an unbiased persona.. They were the ones that showed the first signs of a break with Carter, earlier than the MSNBC type of blowhards..
These media types will try to save their a$$, and their network or publisher.. If I am right, they will start the ball, primarily because they have the real insider stuff..
Dont laugh, but a sure sign that things are changing are the editorials from major Lib Newspapers in Major Lib cities.. But my first red flag was Letterman, calling his buddy, the Bamster a liar..
If you lose the late night comics that have protected you, this is a warning shot, they have big contracts and ratings to preserve..
Ha! great minds.. LOL
