He should have walked out that day and told the world what was happening - in real time!
He had 4 - 6 hours to become loud and public and he did not.
I am disappointed with and angry at Petraus.
He left people behind. How can anyone in the military not think he would do the same to them?
RE: “He had 4 - 6 hours to become loud and public and he did not.”
From what I just read on another topic, General Hamm only had about 30 seconds after he started to deploy his forces in defiance of the REMFs orders to stand down before he was “apprehended” and relieved of duty by his 2nd in Command. I don’t know if the flunkie (likely the assigned Political Officer) actually pulled a weapon on him but he might as well have.
Had the General tried to continue to command at that point, I have little doubt that he would have taken a bullet in the head for his trouble, and I’m sure he knew it.
Petraius knew what to expect had he stepped out of line, too. I suspect that all major officers have an Obama loyal trigger man beside or behind them at all times. I wonder if “our” officers are even allowed to load their sidearms (not that they wear them very often nowadays)?
