This is an increase of 4.2 million eligible voters in one 4 year cycle. This is not actual voters. Latinos actually turnout much less than blacks.

Statistics show the Latinos who actually vote, do mostly vote Dem. How many more Latino voters will there be in 2016, 2020?I would suggest that within 1 or 2 more election cycles, we will have seen our last Republican president.

If Romney wins this election cycle, I fully expect things to get better and he'll have a great chance for a 2016 reelection, but I'm hard pressed to believe we'll see any more Republican presidents.

That’s quite a hike in voter eligibility. My question is, is this “voter eligibility” measurement in age only? If so, it may include illegals.

I live in California. I am confronted with this daily. Our cities here in LA County are becoming majority latino, the state legislature is growing with more Latino names each cycle. Onve thes politicians get into office they pander and push with out tax dollars a bigger helping hand to entitling more people from south of the border to come to California to build an even bigger majority. In fact it ismore nation building as I find many of my places of service catering, speaking and operating in spanish as i am not much more than a bystander in my own country. And I wonder as I look around how will any of these people ever feel about the principles of the Republican Party, the ideology of conservatism or the thought the individual is what Liberty is really about not the collective.

Our party, our ideology better find a way to teach and reach out or yes it will vanish as the backbone of our nation.

how many of these “registered Hispanics” are actually citizens of the United States of America- the USA?

I guess that’s always the question, isn’t it?

This is how our country was destroyed. Importing millions of illegals who have millions of kids, most of whom want government programs and our money.

The Republicans (both Bushes and Reagan) did this as much as the Demonrats.

National Suicide. Death by illegal immigration.

Here’s hoping our high profile conservative latino leaders can be influential and bring the message of conservatism to enlighten more latinos away from the socialist left. Getting the divisive fraud out of office is job #1 at this point.

Does “eligible” = registered? Either way I’d be very surprised if even a fraction of these folks actually vote.

If voterID was in effect and not torpedoed by Obama/Holder, this number would fall back to the prior four year level. Why, because illegals and convicted felons should not be voting.

Will they vote with the homosexuals for Obama, or with the straights for Romney? I fear there are a lot of gay Hispanics who will vote for Obama no matter how much damage he does to this country.

I am, of course, working off of the premise that only gays and wannabe gays will vote for Obama. They are more than his base. They are who he is, and who he represents. Where do Hispanics stand?

There may be a couple rough cycles, but parties always adapt.

We will come back stronger than ever.

Stuff like we will never see one again etc. is hyberbolic nonsense.

This “Myth of the Latino Voter” is getting nauseating...and is brought up only to push Illegal Alien Amnesty

Hispanics still have low turnout...and are not that much a force in elections contrary to conventional wisdom. Even in areas where Hispanics are a majority, GOP Anglos still win elections

I argued your fear in 2005 and got a one year suspension from here back when being against Bush and his amnesty was dicey here if you fought with the wrong harpies...most of whom are now anti freeping or back under new names

freepers just don’t always keep up and are on occasion drawn to PC sentiment same as the general public...especially younger freepers and those in homogeneous white areas

the rise of non whites here bodes bad...very very very bad...with only a few minor exceptions

the nation goes the way the whites vote but that is diminishing

latinos will be the determiner as number two in strength

and given how they vote and have since the beginning and how immigrants in general today...legal or not vote overwhelmingly for entitlements...look it up folks

and younger whites are taught to be guilty about their skin color and accept the blame of America and the west as one big crime against browns, blacks, women and non Christians

it paints an awful picture...and we let it happen...both parties

The Dems would have no borders...they see votes

The GOP are PC on this and stuck on stupid.

Only cure...seal borders, deport illegals, work on latinos, and whites...decent whites....HAVE A BUTTLOAD OF BABIES LIKE THEY USED TO

blacks are irrelevant...not enough to matter and a lost cause

Orientals and Asians...for the most part disappoint me..they know better but the anti white trap lures them in for the special victimhood elixir

it just sux pardner and I have seen it all come down in just my half century of life

our success and power post WWII killed us basically

and something cataclysmic is about all that will save us...or a Christian revival...not likely

Though it remains unclear whether the record-breaking 24 million eligible Latino voters will boost overall election turnout,

They don't say how the number of 'eligible' voters is determined. It is generally accepted that around 1/3 of the Latinos in the US are here illegally, which probably explains why the actual Latino turnout is always well below that of other ethnic groups.

Looks like they could come up with some reasonable estimate of registered Latino voters rather than using the much murkier 'eligible' voters.
