This is a good summary of Democratic miscalculation. The line
working under the assumption that 2008 was a “transformational election” and not a giant, hysterical fluke makes sense.
They thought that 2008 reflected a permanent shift. Fortunately, major shifts don't happen that quickly. 2008 may go down as a turning point, but the ship is still right of center.
