I always thought Panetta was a politician. What are his credentials, what makes him qualified for his current position? Is Panetta as unqualified as Hillary and Oball-less?

I know he was a Congressman, and wikipedia says that he served in the Army as an officer. It says: “ In 1964, he joined the United States Army as a Second Lieutenant, where he served as an officer in Army Military Intelligence. There he received the Army Commendation Medal, and was discharged in 1966 as a First Lieutenant.” That’s only two years service. How did he manage that? Most of his time has been spent in politics.
