The Wave That Breaks The Liberal Bubble
The American Thinker ^ | 10-24-2012 | C. Edmund Wright

Posted on 10/24/2012 2:56:19 AM PDT by wayoverontheright

Can you feel it?

The wave, that is. I speak of one that will wash away far more than just a failed presidency. This wave will have the torque to rock the entire liberal bubble -- the political/media/crony bubble -- leaving it forever exposed. Ironically, those inside this bubble will be the last to know -- which is precisely why it will happen. Those who would rule over us, and insult us with outrage over Big Bird, academic debate-scoring, "binders" memes, and specious jobs statistics know nothing about us. This includes those inside the bubble who purport to represent our views.

But we know them well. For the record, "we" refers to the quarter of the country that never bought into the fraudulent vapor of Obama

Sorry, but I just don’t get it.

It seems to me that any vote not cast for Romney is another vote for obammy.

I’ve been voting since 1956, and I have to do what I think is best for our 11 grandkids........

If Romney is half as maliable in the face of a conservative congress as Bill Clinton, he will go down in history as one one the great conservative leaders of all time.

Admittedly a bit of positive thinking here. But what are our options.

The author is spot on. Not because it’s a positive message, just because, “you can feel it.”

Having said that, we must not merely be content with vanquishing Liberals, we must annihilate them, completely wipe them out starting with the schools, the universities, the corrupt MSM, etc.

Amen to all you say. It’s pretty basic math, and thank God most people get it; it’s just so irritating when those who are, to say it politely, less math-inclined parade their pretend pride.

One could argue that even the military is not efficient as it could be. Why do we pay for our military in Europe and Asia and the countries in these regions don’t pay for their own or contibute to the cost? Also why are our military in MIddle East not there to conquer, win, and get out but act like unarmed peace keepers and construction workers?

Your remarks on this has sent me through a range of thoughts. I wondered if you are misguided, uninformed (ignorant), stubborn, or just plain stupid.

With this election we have two choices. Slavery with a slow agonizing death or relative freedom. Your choice will put yourself into slavery with all its benefits.

As basil said in post #22, paraphrased, “It ain’t going to be fixed with one election.” The president does not make law. Congress does. Mitt will sign or veto what is sent to him.

Vote for TEA party conservatives for congress and they will change the liberal train of thought in the Republican Party.

Your solution for the unholy, abortion supporting Republicans is like stubbing your big toe and, to make it stop hurting, you shoot it off..

Change your thought process or you will remain S.O.S. (Stuck on Stupid)

So, why am I not so cheerful?

If Romney wins, it is likely that we will be governed by RINOs only slightly less liberal, free spending, & corrupt than the Rats. Four more years of McConnell, Boehner, & Co., plus the “Romney for Pres. in 2016” campaign kickoff the day after the Inauguration gives me little to cheer about.

The only good thing about Romney winning is Obama losing.

That we dodged a Marxist bullet would be a great thing, but don't hold your breath expecting a conservative government, rather expect one only slightly less liberal & incompetent.

I believe we have a "sleeper" here. This image is on the TR page... and maybe he has something to say about it.

Maybe a "concern Troll", visiting from DU! Lots of posers herein, and signup dates from last fall when Zero started spending most of his time flying mall over campaigning.

"But you all let Sarah Palin twist in the wind…”

I guess you need to go back and review all the old Palin threads from 2009 and 2010 then to see the ferocity of our defense back then, against the Rats, the GOP-e, and the in-house PDS’ers.

But, as far as the Conservative movement at large goes, the only real prominent people to rise to her defense was Andrew Breitbart, Mark Levin, and Sean Hannity. Not a peep from the rest, especially after Tucson.

There seems to be something wrong with my Mac - it shows Timber Rattler saying "our defense” back in ’09 and ’10, and yet it also indicates that TR signed up on Nov 2 of ’11. Darned computer . . .

This articles explains how the new media (talk radio, breitbart, viral youtube videos,) is knowking down the stockade protecting the liberal elite. That stockade is the old media (the major daily newspapers, three major networks and CNN) which controlled all news consumed by the public and thereby shaped opinion.

The liberals no longer have this protection, but they think they do. Why? Because they live in a bubble. They go to a cocktail party and everyone there thinks exactly the way they do. They turn on CNN and see their views reflected back to them like they're looking in a mirror.

They laugh at Fox News refusing to believe like the children they are, that Fox is the number one network, and that Fox and the rest are shaping public opinion now - not CNN- not ABC - not the New York Times or Ted Koppel.

However, there are some self-aware liberals. And these savvy liberals are using the new media effectively to shape the opinions of our youth. They are doing this with the website Reddit, Comedy Central's Jon Stewart and others.

Reddit modestly calls itself "the front page of the internet." It was founded in San Francisco (make your own assumptions) in 2005 by two 22 year olds and later acquired by Conde Nast. It is now a subsidiary of the parent company, Advance. Reddit is very popular with college and high school students. The content voted to the front page is often ultra liberal and depressingly immoral. For example a recent front page post was about something I cannot discuss on a family website.

Reddit has a fatal flaw: any user can vote a post up or down. This means it can be freeped!!

I have banned Reddit from my home wifi and I suggest others with teenagers and young adults to do the same.

But for those without impressionable young people, I suggest you register on Reddit and "vote down" offensive articles and post your own views to balance the site and help young people who are being brainwashed over there.

The piece was edited down by 600 words - not my choice. Sarah Palin was, and remains, a factor in this wave. My published works include many articles lauding her and in fact I was one of the first. Not every piece can include every single pertinent thought. And yes, Palin is pertinent.
Congratulations on an excellent piece.

There is no gainsaying that Palin is pertinent. I tried to take the lead at the end of ’09 when I adopted the tagline DRAFT PALIN, seeking precisely to head off Romney by promoting the ’08 VP as being next in line for the presidential nomination. But it seemed that everyone had their own favorite, and we couldn’t coalesce until the Rick Perrys and the Herman Cains had burned out. Our only chance was if we had succeeded in drafting Palin into the race, and she had preempted Perry, Cain, et al. I have contributed more money in this election cycle than ever before, and I’d have done twice that and more for Palin.

But we were fragmented, and Mitt is the result. But at least I dearly hope that your “wave” is exactly right. And that the GOPe won’t sell us out after being handed the WH and both branches of Congress. lf Romney wins, the proof of the pudding would come with a SCOTUS nomination.

As I think you probably know, the work will really start after we remove Obama. And yes, as Rush says, we’ll have to keep pushing Romney to the right. And we’ll need as many conservatives in congress and the senate as possible and we’ll have to keep the pressure up on message boards, talk radio, etc etc.

I closed the piece with Levin’s “we’ll deal with all of that later” - and I suspect you fully know what “all of that” is we still must deal with. First things first. Ride the wave baby! The bigger the wave, the easier it will be to deal with all of that later.

If Romney is half as maliable in the face of a conservative congress as Bill Clinton, he will go down in history as one one the great conservative leaders of all time.

That is a brilliant and correct comment. The best governance we've had post Reagan was Bill Clinton's caving into New't Contract W America Congress bills. Sure, it lasted only a year or so, but that was damned good conservative government and to this day, CLINTON and NOT NEWT get the credit for it.

Nonetheless, the Clinton and potential Mitt analogy is 100% spot on, and I've written about the Clinton Newt dynamic many times on American Thinker. SHOUT it from the rooftops. And no, it is not just positive thinking. You speak from legitimate historical events.

Thanks as usual for your incisive remarks:

“That is not acting or voting. That is pretending to act.

The other solutions you propose are cowardly acts of one unable or so ideological deluded they are unable to weigh the actual candidates merits and make a decision and then be an American and Vote.

There are only two candidates!”

All of this “I’m not voting for the guy who doesn’t walk on water and doesn’t make my wonderful conservative legs tingle!”, reminds me of what happened to a friend, who was called up as a Naval Reservist, during the Cuban Missile Crisis in October, 1962.

At night in October, 1962, he and a few others met their ship on a lonely pier in NC, and the ship headed towards Cuba with them, supplies and a load of ammo/guns.

Besides his critical MOS, he was/is an incredible marksman with shotguns, pistols, rifles and anything that shot a bullet. He had many jackets/trophies from breaking a 100 in skeet and trap. He could hit bulls eyes at 100 yards with a rifle and had killed running deer at 100-200+ yards with his scoped 30:06. He didn’t miss with his pistols.

His dad taught him how to shoot, and a Texas Ranger taught his dad how to shoot. Like his dad, his dominant eye was his left eye inspite of being right handed. The Ranger told his dad to shoot with both eyes open. His dad never missed and he didn’t either.

Growing up, he listened to uncles and older cousins who served in WWII or Korea, complaining about how so many of their fellow soldiers refused to shoot to kill the Germans, Italians and Japanese in deadly combat. He never heard this complaint from relatives and later friends, who served as Marines or Paratroopers.

The first morning on the ship at sea, the Warrant Officers in Charge of the boarding parties were holding firing practice.

The CWO’s asked him to join. In about 15 minutes, he hit every target with every weapon inspite of bouncing along at sea.

So they asked him to join the boarding parties. Later, the CWO’s told him, they had been told by peers who knew about the shooting abilities of my friend. They had prior knowledge that he was a great shot. That, he knew how to shoot and would shoot to kill, if he was told to.

He told the CWO’s fine, but he had one question to ask the other boarding party members in a one on one/face to face.

The CWO’s didn’t understand what he was doing, until they let him ask the question.

His question was: “Will you shoot to kill the Russians if we board their ship and they are trying to kill us?”

He looked each potential boarding party member eyes to eyes while asking that question and waiting silently for their answer.

Most said yes they would.

However. some members of the boarding parties hemmed and hawed until he said, “I will kill you if you don’t shoot to kill the Russians.”

Then, they admitted they couldn’t shoot and kill an enemy, which was a reason for joining the navy.

By this time the CO and XO were there. They and CWO’s removed the pretenders from the boarding parties. They were replaced by those, who said they would shoot and kill the Russians with no problem.

The new members joined the firing practices and became team members of the boarding parties.

They never had to board a Russian Ship, but they came close.

A few months later after the Cuban Missile crisis was over, my friend returned home. Years later, he told us about those who wouldn’t shoot to kill the enemies.

He said to never trust those in life, who talk a brave game, but will not be there when they are needed.

We shouldn’t waste our time with the non combatant voters in this war for survival.

We need to spend our time and energy in defeating the criminal Obozo. We shouldn’t waste our time with the loser pretenders in life. Let them post whatever bs they want and then ignore them.
