So if Al Qaeda was willing to spend, say $250,000 each to a few TSA agents, I just wonder how much contraband they could get aboard an airplane?

I feel so much safer already.

This is definitely an area where W leaned left. TSA is a poster child for the "Symbolism Over Substance" charge we have always leveled at liberals.

Nobody in Washington cares if the TSA is effective or not. It was important for the feds to "do something."

As the only hammer in the government's toolbox, "do something" translates to: Expand government power and spend more taxpayer money.

Nowhere on the agenda does "solve the problem" or "accomplish something constructive" appear.
