President Obama earns just over 50% of the vote in Minnesota.
A new telephone survey of Likely Minnesota Voters finds Barack Obama with 51% support to 46% for Mitt Romney. One percent (1%) prefers some other candidate, while another one percent (1%) is undecided.

Didn’t Obama win by 10 pts in 2008?
Well a loss is a loss for us whether it’s 10 pts or 5 pts.
your name suits you well.
why would this poll make them panic?
Uh okay well, “WOO HOO We’re Gonna lose Minnesota by less than in 2008”
better?
hopefully you’re this confident in polls when they should Romney up nationally, big
Not good for Obama... I still think we will lose Minnesota...
How do you know Romney will lose MN? The momentum is still with Romney and the state polls will NOT reflect the current national movement for another week or so. Give it time and MN could very well be 51R/46O.
When one of the RAT “safe states” shows Romney closing the gap and Obama falling dangerously close to the 50% mark, I see that as a good thing.
Yes I’m very happy with Ras today and Gallup. You can check the Ras thread for my posts.
I’m not sure exactly what the deal is with this thread.
I mean, why are the dems suppose to panic?
If he’s down 5, and Dems are over sampled by 8, then we’re good. I think Rasmussen is still using roughly 2008 turn out models. Those are at least 8 points off what reality will be in 2012.
Well yes but it may be another one they have to worry about, its getting too close on many fronts for them, the trend distinctly not Obama. Romney is picking off states, wont take much to pull this down possibly too.
I didn’t say that. I am just probing your motives
True. I hope Romney can pull it out in the end.
The ‘black magic of 2008’ just isn’t there for 0bama this time. His biggest problem is voter apathy and I’m hoping we’ll see a HUGH AND SERIES number of ‘likely’ 0bama voters NOT VOTING.
Oh I thought Ras did a small dem sample compared to other polls.
It reduces the number of "safe" states. Safe states are ones where you do not need to spend money campaigning, as you feel you will win without spending resources on advertising, campaigning, and getting out the vote. Too many "unsafe" states mean you get spread too thin leading up to the election.
Minnesota remains LOST!
The crap must be hitting the fan today in OfA HQ, serious apathy problems and states falling off the safe radar and possibly having to defend ones they should not have had to.
If Obama is having to defend a crapload of states and Romney only needs to take like 1 or 2 more then there will be panic.
Messina was not a happy bunny this morning on TV.
Never happen.
Won’t even be close.
Non-story.
