The FR thread was even better ;o)
Neither focus group tonight either on Fox or CNN revealed who people switched to in terms of candidates.
Ticked off at that....what’s the point of the focus group then?
That said, some interesting poll results.
CBS poll has undecideds saying Obama won decidedly.
CNN poll says slim Obama win, and even PPP wasn’t a huge Obama win.
More telling due to the lack of focus group information tonight is the question of whether this would sway votes.
CNN said 24 percent were more likely to vote Obama due to it, 25 percent actually said more likely to vote Romney, and the rest no change.
Here is PPP though....intriguing.
PPP post-debate INDYs only key stat: “More/less likely to vote after debate” - Obama 32 more/48 less. Romney 47 more/35 less
That’s quite interesting. More are voting Romney despite a “win” by Obama.
I can’t follow 1000+ posts, but I scanned through and didn’t see this:
Did anybody note that Obama called Egypt our most important ally in the Middle East, and did not mention Israel? When the question went to Romney, he mentioned Israel.
Not sure what the precise question was.
From the publics pov, a draw imo because the public is too stupid to see a liar right in front of their face.
From my pov, Romney won but only because Im educated enough to see thru Obamas many lies.
Romney was too much of a gentleman at times, but maybe that was his campaign strategy for this third debate.
Obama threw out soo much dishonest chaff that needed correction that Romney didnt have time to correct all of it. He corrected some of it and continued to take the high road.
At times, I felt he should have essentially thrown up his arms in frustration and said, Why do you keep repeating all these snarky lies when time and time again, I’ve corrected you on them?
In the end, I think a lot boils down to shallow things like facial expressions, appearance/style. Romney clearly had that over Barky Obunga.
My neighbor lady (85 y/o conservative) called me right after and said Romney looked fatherly. Hadnt thought of it that way, but thats an appeal he probably has for a lot of people. Hes a true father in real life and he exudes that quality.
Obama exudes the characteristics of a petulant punk.
His beady eyes made him appear as if he was always defending a lie.
But the “FATHERLY” comparison sums up an essence about Romney that Obama just doesnt have.
Bork Obunga is a professional complainer and thats it...
Since America has become a nation of children, it follows that they may fall for more of a father figure than Obama. That’s why Obunga will lose.
Although in no way do I think Obama "won" tonight, I'm highly disappointed that Romney didn't nail him on Benghazi-Gate. It never even came up! Romney also missed several opportunities to debunk several of Obama's lies, and I wish he had made more of Obama's avoidance of Netanyahu.
Romney was far more "presidential"... Obozo came off like the petulant punk that he is...
IATD!
(In after the debate)
Woo! Hoo!
Romney wins the final POTUS debate, hands down. Mitt Romney will be the next POTUS come November 6, 2012!!! Mega Kudos to both Rob Portman & Mitt Romney!!! Masterful plan and perfect delivery!!! Obama got royally spanked!!! End of story!!!
The MSM was enamored with Obamas horses and bayonets prepared line. But the little heralded deadly message was Romneys Attacking me is not an agenda line.A very succinct way of reinforcing Romneys latest message that his opponent has no plan for the nation other than getting reelected. That line alone underscored the difference between Romneys presidential stage presence and Obamas whiny petulant undertones.
