Republican Sen. James Inhofe says the Environmental Protection Agency has delayed action or punted on numerous regulations while President Obama tries to earns votes for a second term.
The Oklahoma senator and ranking Republican on the chambers Committee on Environment and Public Works has released a report stating that when the agency approves the roughly one dozen regulations next year in 2013, they will spell doom for jobs and economic growth.
The Obama-EPA plans to move full speed ahead to implement this agenda if President Obama wins a second term, Inhofe writes. These rules taken together will inevitably result in the elimination of millions of American jobs, drive up the price of gas at the pump even more, impose construction bans on local communities and essentially shut down American oil, natural gas and coal production.
The 14-page report cites pending regulations on a wide range of environmental-economic issues including those on power plant emissions and hydraulic fracturing.
The report concluded that pending overall regulations on greenhouse gases if enacted would cost $300 billion to $400 billion annual and significantly increase the price of gasoline and home heating.
The requirements are so strict they virtually eliminate coal as a fuel option for future electric power generation, the report states. In a thinly veiled political move, the agency has put off finalizing the proposal until after the election.

Meanwhile, oil, gas and coal production continues to rise exponentially all over the globe. Fact.
I can’t believe Yahoo is a pimping a piece claiming that gas MIGHT drop .50 cents a gallon for Barry to help with his election. When did the “media” start PREDICTING the news? What a bunch of losers.
Obama and his corrupt Marxist regime must be defeated!! Vote them OUT!!
“Meanwhile, oil, gas and coal production continues to rise exponentially all over the globe. Fact.”
With most countries not caring AT ALL about the environment. If the greenies cared at all about Mother Gaia they would agree to a 20% reduction in some of our rules, and open up 90% of closed lands in the U.S. to exploration and development.
Hopefully Romney can find a way to use this during the last debate, by basically asking how he plans to “create jobs” if he’s instead killing off REAL JOBS by the millions. It has AWESOME potential, as it fits the president perfectly.
Amen!! Worth repeating.
Nixon’s nightmare.
Meanwhile, oil, gas and coal production continues to rise exponentially all over the globe. Fact.
It seems impossible to prevent Iran from getting nuclear weapons. Once they have them theyll exact tribute for every barrel of oil flowing out of the gulf. The resulting price increase will cause world-wide starvation and economic calamity. Everyone who can produce their own energy should be moving ahead at full speed.
At two or three hundred dollars a barrel, not even liberals will give a rats posterior about global warming or carbon footprints.
The four branches of government are;
Executive
Legislative
Judicial
Regulatory
Not all are accountable to the people and nulify the concept of a Representative Republic.
It's one more scam on the people of the country by Obama, his thugs in the executive branch and his campaign.
so Obama DOES have an agenda and plan... hmmmmmm MITT? maybe this ought to be brought out in debate tomorrow night.
Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls...
THIS is what desperation looks like.
If 0bama gets re-elected, John Boner better show some BALLS for a change and impeach this bastard for sabotaging America by undermining our free-market, capitalist Republic.
The Founders NEVER intended agencies of the federal government to have this authority, which is why they granted it to the Congress alone. It begs the question of the legality of EPA or IRS edicts.
Worse, given the structure of government, it is virtually impossible to fire incompetent employees or abolish useless, unnecessary or rogue agencies. Therein lies the problem for America. As each politician moves into or out of the WH or the Congress with their ready-made agenda, we end up with a variety of agencies, commissions, panels, etc., that are difficult , at best, to get rid of.
Most of us would probably agree that the EPA has become a rogue agency making up its own set of “rules” that have the affect of federal law. And, the EPA has long since outlived its intended purpose. It's time for this agency to go away.
But, who will abolish it? Romney? Congress? A Constitutional Amendment? The fact is that pretty much no politician is willing to “fall on his sword” to abolish these agencies and attempt to restore the government the way the Founders intended. If Romney (for example - assuming he is elected) were to try it, the Dems would emit a death scream so loud it would be heard on Pluto! The EPA is one of their sacred cows and is responsible for as much, if not more, government stupidity than the Congress, itself.
We can complain to our neighbors and write our Congresscritters how unhappy we are with the EPA, or the IRS or even membership in the UN and nothing will be done. Until there are protest marches across the country and politicians are threatened with losing their cushy elected position, I can assure that the EPA will be with us until the earth is no more.
Well said and sadly true.
Obama has abused that regulatory branch as no other president has, he has to go!
... and, currently, NONE of them are.
AGENDA 21. “I’m Barack 0bama and the United Nations approves this message.”
