People, including myself, forget that the Bears’ offense is a work in progress. We cannot expect it to be very polished at this point. These NFL offenses are as intricate as a fine watch.
We have:
a new coordinator
a new line coach
a new left guard
a new right tackle
a new FB/HB
a new #1 WR
we lost our most productive WR of last year, Johnnie Knox.
So at this point we are doing well offensively considering.
With the best D in the league we have the time to perfect our offense while still in the thick of the fight for the title.
We were very close to turning this game into a blowout.
Refusing to run even once from the three was very stupid. And we had several near misses for interceptions.
Well, they have two more practice games until the real season starts Nov. 11.
A key for any contender is consistency. To put up 41 against the Colts then 34 against Dallas, then squeak out 13 against Detroit has me worried.
Plus that last minute drive by Stafford showed porous coverage. What if he started the game like that?
Anyway I agree, the offense is still gelling, hoping they come together.
They are who we hoped they weren’t going to be but who we thought they might be.
