He flew a B-24 for the 5th AF during WWII and completed his 25 missions over some of the most defended targets in Germany, Romania, and Austria. The man served the AF with honor and class; he was a true patriot. RIP George.
And some in here would be happy if he burns in Hell.
I would differ on one point. Serving with honor during the war does not make him a true patriot. He did the right thing at the time like many others. Like many others, he later did the wrong things and was one of the architects of the current National Socialist Democrat Party. If serving among the many makes him a patriot then Benedict Arnold is a patriot, Timothy McVeigh who served honorably in a war is a patriot, Jonathon Pollard and many more who went on to turn on the Constitution are patriots. The term patriot applied to him, I believe, does a disservice to true patriots and to all of those who honorably served and continued to honor the country and the Constitution after their service had ended.
