The more yo read about his private life, the more you got to like him. He is a man who deserves respect for the life he has lived.
George and Mitt Romney, who would have been 11 years old, in 1958.
Nice story. I was never a big fan of Romney but he has really impressed me as the campaign has worn on. He has the chance to become a great president.
He really does love this country, and seems like a genuinely nice guy - despite his media-created image. And he’s very smart. It’s nice to go into a press conference, debate or interview and not have to worry that he’s going to fumble for words. Although he does have a habit of getting overly excited about things. But it’s a nice trait to have - especially coming off Obama who cares only about himself. I think America is ready to have a grown up in the White House.
Wow, I didn’t read every word, but this surprisingly seems to be a pretty positive Romney story from the NY Times.
His passion for mastering policy and deliberative decision-making evokes the man he wishes to replace, Barack Obama.***
LOL That yarn was unraveled about 3 years ago.
I can’t wait.
A very good article from the NYT. I wonder what page it was buried on.
They know.
They made a couple of half hearted attempts to draw Obama Romney parallels, but realized the absurdity of it...
...Mr. Romney loathes pushing out people with whom he works closely and will do just about anything to avoid it an approach that has inspired deep loyalty to him even as it has raised questions about his ability to make tough personnel calls, as presidents inevitably must. (Mr. Obama, for instance, is on his third chief of staff.)
(Couldn't have anything to do with the ideologically dogmatic Valerie Jarrett, could it?)
They seriously undermined their own attempts to paint him as someone who likes to fire people by writing about how loyal his people are because he doesn't like to fire them.
I hate to admit it...the NYTimes is still the best when it comes to the long form narrative.
SAVING FOR LATER
Unfortunately, they'll probably be successful and the President-elect will grant the Times in-depth interviews only to see his words twisted and taken out of context as the 'newspaper of record' begins a four-year war to convince America and the world that Romney is Hitler and Stalin personified. Why not? It worked on George W. Bush.
Granted, Bush gave them lots of ammunition but Romney will have to do some hard things as president if he expects to get us out of the economic swamp Obama has made and that will be fodder for 24/7 left-wing attacks on Romney that, unlike Bush, he'll have to counter, as Reagan did. Not by confrontation but by simply being the smart, effective leader and decent human being he's always been. Good luck, Mister President.
Huh wut?
Is this some article that Romney is a homo and they wish him to drink hemlock?
Next thing I know they'll be publishing stories on how Mitt likes gladiator movies...

bump for later
Oh boy....there is a ton of firing that needs to happen in the government. If he can’t bring himself to do this he’ll be backstabbed for 4 years.
