George Zimmerman's attorneys can subpoena Trayvon Martin's schools for his discipline records, a judge ruled today, but must keep anything they obtain private.
"I think that you're entitled to those records," Circuit Judge Debra Nelson said at a hearing this afternoon at the Seminole County Courthouse. The wide-ranging hearing ended about 3 p.m. after about an hour and a half of argument. Another hearing was set for next week.
The judge also granted Zimmerman's request to subpoena Trayvon's social media records, as well as those of a girl who says she was on the phone with him before the shooting.

"Cant wait to hear the whining from Trayvons parents."
You don't need to wait. Here's an excerpt from the article:
Two hours before the hearing's scheduled start, the teen's parents accused Zimmerman in a press conference of needlessly attacking their slain son's character.
"I feel that Trayvon's school records are not relevant in this case," Trayvon's father Tracy Martin said this morning, adding that Zimmerman's medical records "are very relevant in the case."
There's all sorts of other blather and balderdash about "blaming the victim", which, of course, assumes that Martin was a "victim", rather than the "attacker".

The records become fair game if the prosecution tries to pretend Martin was a good, upstanding yut. That would ‘open the door’ to the defense entering the records as evidence that he was a rotten little thug, in rebuttal.
This makes the course of the trial a lot more interesting, because the prosecution can only present a “two-dimensional” Martin to the jury. They cannot reference his character at all. Likely they cannot even get the testimony of Martin’s family, because they could ‘open the door’ about his character as well.

"I feel that Trayvon's school records are not relevant in this case," Trayvon's father Tracy Martin said this morning All they are likely to prove is that Trayvon was an ignoramus. So, no surprise there.

Sounds like a discovery issue.
Getting the transcripts into evidence is going to be an entirely different battle, determined by different standards.
Remember, a court trial is never a search for truth.

Depends on the prosecution’s case. If one of their witness testifies he was a little angel they become admissable on cross. The defense having them keeps the prosecution honest.

Did Trayvon Martin physically assault a bus driver or not?If they subpoena his social media records, and he posted on social media that he assaulted a bus driver, hopefully that becomes something they can bring up in trial. At least I hope so. Poor Zimmerman's been rotting in the slammer all this time, just for defending himself. Even when he gets out, he'll never be safe. His life's been ruined.

Also, see post #13. There are people raising the possibility of malicious prosecution, and officials involved in withholding evidence or not being completely truthful in court are on notice!
