Ken Buck also lost because his ‘no exceptions’ anti-abortion position was attacked. And he made some comments in the primary vs Gail Norton that helped the Dems run the ‘he is anti-woman’ playbook.

Had Norton been the nominee, she would have won.

And it didnt help that the Gov race was a Cluster-hickenlooper.

Add Connie Mack. He’s a consummate party guy. Most of the tea party candidates jumped out of the Florida race because Mack had all the ties to money and political connections to win the primary. Now he’s running a ‘less than optimal’ campaign against an unpopular incumbent.

Wasn't a Republican year in Delaware, and the Dems had decided to pay off somebody with Biden's seat ~ now that he was Vice President.

I think Christine would have had a better chance of Karl Rove had been kept on a leash.

you can look up the ad's history but I think it was only broadcast once on a local UHF channel ~ and not a network affiliate, with a very limited audience, outside of prime time.

Delaware is within the Baltimore and DC broadcast areas BTW, and i'm pretty sure the ad wasn't run on 4, 6, 7 or 9 ~ but you've probably seen it several times as part of various documentary type news stories.

The Republicans in Delaware generally live in the South half of the state. The Democrats predominate in the North. The voters are becoming a bit more conservative every year as wealthy people from the Philadelphia suburbs retire to the shore.

it is entirely possible that in a century and a half the whole state will become prime Republican territory.

Just before reading this article, I looked at the Senate races. I now believe that we are going to end up with 53-54 GOP in the Senate.

That goes nicely along with my belief that Romney is going to get 53-54% of the vote, although it seems that I may be a bit on the low side, as of now.

The reason for these numbers IS DUE to the Tea Party, and the energy we bring to campaigns. Milbank is off the reservation.

Hey, FRiend, where is the statutory Dana Milbank Puke Alert in the title?

This guy lives to suck moisture and nutrition out of Barky's hemorrhoids.

the RINO condition seems to be one of those things that once you've tried it, you don't go back. The fact that RINOism can't be escaped should concern us all, but it should also spur action to make sure that as we rid ourselves of RINOs we keep their heirs out of the Republican party as well.

Counterexample: Hildebeast, who grew up RiNO in Chicago, was a Nixon Girl in '68, then got glommed on to by lefty LUGS at Wellesley and wound up in the SDS and married to Slick.

Other examples will no doubt occur to other readers deeply steeped in political history. Starting with Jim Jeffords and Lincoln Chaffee.

LOL!
I clicked on the thread and saw the two words, “Dana Milbank”.
No thanks! No newsroom rat operatives for me today.
