Rush makes an excellent point: debates don’t happen in a vaccuum.... candidates don’t start out “even”, the past 4 years put Obozo in a hole and means no amount of words he uses now can change it.
I guess “points” are more important to these commentators than votes. The object of the debate should be to convince voters, not just impress judges with the candidates’ prevarication and interruption skills.
I agree with Rush’s analysis, and I’m glad he brought up the Frank Luntz focus group from last night. Those “undecided” voters swung big for Romney after the debate. About a quarter of them, of course, were still Obama morons, but the rest were clearly impressed by Romney’s command of the issues. When asked to describe his performance in one or two words, most of them included “Presidential.”
