It is what it is in modern American Christianity. First we went “Kymbaya” all paths are equal so we would not offend. We now see liberals using Jesus to promote “social welfare” of the state. Now of course we can no longer call out a cult because it is not prudent.

Given how many approach faith now days at some point there will be pragmatic Christians declaring themselves Atheist if it serves their earthly goals...

I understand what you’re saying, but remember this: Elisha was wrong for thinking all Israel was lost and he was the last of the faithful. I have no doubt that God has again reserved for himself a faithful remnant who will not bend the knee to these new false gods of our time. I just hope it’s a lot more than 7000.
