What price has she paid other than saying “the buck stops with me”?
Has she resigned?
Has she been asked to resign?
Is she being called in front of Congress on dereliction of duty (or the equivalent for her office) charges?
So far all I can see with these “consequences” is that she had to make a statement. Big deal.

It has been openly reported that regardless of whether Obama wins or loses in this election, she’s NOT going to be secretary of state anyway. If Obama wins, she already signaled she’s not going to serve a second term. if Romney wins, then she’s out.
What’s there to lose? either way, she’s gone.
Might as well throw her party a lifeline and be loved by her base.
