If the government truly didn't want drugs coming into the country, there wouldn't be any....or at least a lot less.

Only by turning our land of the free into a police state could they even hope to significantly reduce drugs - and even China and Iran have drug problems.

[The War on Drugs is] providing a massive amount of income for the governments via the judicial/law enforcement/incarceration complex.

That I agree with 100% - the War on Drugs is just another utopian big-government program that has failed for everyone but those paid to carry it out.

Are you kidding? they can't keep drugs out of prisons where people are already locked up for drugs.

No, I was speaking strictly about drugs crossing the border, not ones among the general population.

IMHO, government may have the authority to participate in points of entry, but nowhere does it have the authority to tell the people what they can consume.
