for a while in my industrial career I administered the labor contract for the plant and received death threats during times negotiations got sticky or they went out on strike. It is in their play book.
My first wife was the team leader for hiring replacement workers (aka “scabs”) at a Firestone Plant during a Rubber Workers strike. 4 or 5 union thugs showed up on my back deck one night. Once they saw that I wasn’t exactly Wally Cox and was holding my Winchester Model 50, they mumbled about looking for “Dennis” or some such. There was no one named Dennis anywhere near my house. After that, we had 24/7 armed guards from the company contracted to protect the plant during the strike.
