Here’s an important lesson for those student government kids: the vote didn’t kick chik fil a off campus at all, the student government doesn’t have that authority, and it doesn’t hold the contracts for food services.
If I were the school’s administration, I’d issue a concise statement for the student newspaper explaining the choice they are really trying to make, and promise to raise student fees in the next year by exactly what it will cost the college to break the contract (including applicable legal fees, and noting that the full costs will be borne in a single year so as to most directly reflect the current student body’s wishes) After the student body had a chance to mull that over for a week or so, then ask the student government to vote again.
