8th Annual TexasCowboy Memorial Shoot ~ Planning Thread

Because everyone had such a great time at the last shoot we are anxious for the next one.
The date for the 8th Annual TCMS shoot will be June 8th, 2013 and will be held at Dietz Gun Shop and Shooting Range, in New Braunfels, TX. Providing we get the OK from Mr. Dietz I will call him this week to discuss our coming to the range.
Staying in the Pelican Bay cottages this year was a stroke of genius, so we will again be staying in cottages. The cottage pick for this shoot is the Cypress Creek Cottages, in Wimberley, TX. There are only twelve cottages at this place, and as of this writing 7 of them have been reserved. NOTE: They require full payment at the time the reservations are made. Wimberley also has some very nice hotels in the area in the event all the cottages get rented.
Making it a three & a half day weekend will be the plans for many of us, that way we can enjoy the area and have lots of porch time.
The Friday night dinner & Saturday breakfast places have not yet been decided. There is still plenty of time to figure out those details. Saturday after the shoot lunch will be provided by our own chef ~ cpdiii (Thanks Charlie!). Suggestions for the Saturday night meal are more than welcome.
My thanks to mylife, penelopesire, LuvW, BuckeyeTexan and NYTexan for their help in getting these plans going.

I also have about 120 rounds of .22 long shotshell that I will never use There will be 22s at the shoot. You'll have opportunity to use it.

Little Man has a .22 rifle that he bought from NYTexan. We’ll try some of the shotshell in it. I have an old .22 revolver that my Papa used shotshell in to kill snakes, but I hardly ever shoot it. Not enough boom. Heh.

That is sweet but my son is coming over tomorrow to go through old family pictures. We have to do a video of bride and groom for the wedding rehearsal dinner. Sure is a pretty weekend for it though. I wish we could. Thank you for asking!!

(P.S. I also have about 120 rounds of .22 long shotshell that I will never use if anyone wants it.) Woo Hoo! Time for some grasshopper hunting. They only count if you take thing on the wing.

Here's where NYTexan and I took Little Man shooting today. It's a very nice outdoor range. It's about 9 months old. They have some nice plans for the place and the staff was very friendly. We had the rifle and pistol range to ourselves all day. (There was one other man there with us. But he was very friendly and cooperative.)

Little Man was hitting the metal targets at 200 yards with the 77/22. He was so proud of himself.

Looks like you had a perfect day for shooting!
Beautiful weather.
Kudos to the boy!
200 yards with a .22 is pretty impressive.
Nice light wind conditions today.
