"You and I can arm wrestle ... or I can bring you a target with my face on it!" So, you actually don't want my ilk to spoil the festivities, but you want to sound accomodating? ... I use a wheelchair to get around my home and for shopping, so I can carry things in my teeth. Arms drive non-electric chairs. You really don't want to embarrass yourself arm wrestling me. And as to the target, well, Homeland has already got targets with just folks on them, for storm trooper practice. I don't use those targets, either.

When you use a chair to get around, and without a spouse to assist, extended traveling is an amazing hastle.

That's not it at all! I was just being silly given our history. I thought some humor was appropriate and would express my hope that you will join us. You are absolutely most welcome to attend. I hope you will consider it.

You really don't want to embarrass yourself arm wrestling me.

I don't want to embarrass myself competing with gunner in bows & arrows either, but I'm gonna. What could be more fun than taunting me while I get my butt kicked?

When you use a chair to get around, and without a spouse to assist, extended traveling is an amazing hastle.

Jim and Sheila Robinson attended last year's shoot in wheelchairs. We accommodated their needs without incident. I'm sure we can accommodate yours. You'll find that we're a very friendly bunch and are happy to help a FRiend in need. At TCMS, there are no "ilks" just FRiends.

In fact, Lazamataz needs a bunk mate. Perhaps you & he could share a cottage. Then you'd have someone to assist who was staying with you.

I’m sure Buckeye was just funnin’ ya.

Believe it or not, folks with different viewpoints on things
miraculously get along just fine at TCMS, even come out of
the deal with a newfound appreciation for each other.

True story.

Why it’s even been noted that the chief Palin cheerleader
gets along just dandy with the chief Palin basher who also
happens to be one of the most contentious buttholes in all of FR.

Seen it with my own eyes.

It’d be great if you could make it.

I see that I had best get busy on this years’ logo, as the
amateur freelance attempts have started to crop up already.

I like the black shirt best.

Those two are sweethearts - just cuddly teddy bears if you ask me.

Two more months until the shoot ping!

There is still one cottage available at Cypress Creek Cottages, http://www.cypresscreekcottages.org/, you have until the end of this month to reserve it. You will need to call them to make your reservation, mention TexasCowboy to get the 10% discount.

If you are staying overnight and have not made reservations to stay somewhere, I suggest that you do that quickly. Summer is a very busy time in the Hill Country.

I’m really looking forward to seeing all my FRiends, eating cpdiii’s yummy food, and sitting on the deck talking about every thing.

Can’t wait to see everyone!

Didn’t see a pool table at the cottages anywhere on the recon trip. Guess the boys will have to let me win at bows & arrows or darts this time. Heh.

Thank You for update. Am still working on one minor problem. Will pray for a solution by early next week. Next year a definite, if unable this year. Well, a definite if the creek don’t rise next year.

bows & arrows

Is there place to shoot that around the cottages? I have some low power ones I got when I got trained to be a Girl Scout Archery instructor.

I stink at it, but I like it. Teaching the kids, they were more interested in willingness to teach and an understanding of safety. My level is just teach extreme beginners who often don't even know how to hold the bow.

Yep. Right behind the cottages on the creek. I’m bringing my son’s compound bow (adjusted for me) and a couple of targets. Bring yours. We’ll have us some fun.

I’ve got a left handed compound bow sitting in the studio gathering dust
which I’ll happily give to anyone with a use for it. Got it at an estate sale
and didn’t realize it was a lefty until later. I can’t use it.

I’m left handed when it comes to writing, but right handed in all other things.

Mixed up ol’ mess, you betcha.

I’m right-handed but left-eye dominant. It makes for a weird shooting stance.

My brother is a lefty writer but switches up a lot for most things, shoots right handed mostly.

He was tough at tennis because he had no backhand, just switched hands. He could do this equally for the serve, and throw the ball up high, switch hands while you were watching the ball, then put the ball in a place you swore he could not possible have placed it.

If he was quick, he would switch back while your went after the ball. It took some people 3 or four aced serves before they could figure out what the heck he was doing.

Neither of us were really any good. But the parents bought a house with a tennis court back when we were teenagers. We would set up with a basket full of balls and just practice serving. We never got good at playing but 30 years ago, we could smoke in a serve.
